What to Expect

The event is entirely outdoors and lasts around 4 hours. Gates open with live music already playing and food vendors running. You'll receive your lantern kit at check-in — take your time decorating it, walk around, find your spot. As the sun sets, the team guides everyone to the water's edge for the launch. After the release, stay and watch the lanterns drift before the event closes.

Date: August 22nd and August 23rd Opening hours: from 3PM to 8PM, and the lanterns will be released between 5PM and 6PM. Duration: The Experience will take around 5 hours General admission: to actively participate in the ritual, get your tickets through Fever, which also includes the park entrance ticket! What can I expect from the event? The Water Lantern Festival is a truly unforgettable experience where families, friends, and communities gather to celebrate life. It is a moving evening that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds. As thousands of lanterns illuminate the water, you will experience a beautiful and emotional moment that you will remember forever.
Who does the festival benefit? The Water Lantern Festival is a for-profit event, but we are proud to support charities and non-profit organizations at every location. We are especially honored to collaborate with Make-A-Wish, helping to fulfill life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. You can visit each event's page to learn more about the local charities in your area. Our goal is to create donation opportunities, raise awareness, and build meaningful relationships with organizations that have a real impact.

Where is the experience held? The experience will be held at the São Paulo Botanical Garden.
Does the experience take place indoors or outdoors? This experience takes place outdoors, so we recommend dressing according to the weather. If the event cannot be held due to adverse weather conditions, a notification will be sent to the email address linked to your Fever account. If in doubt, please check your spam folder.
How long is the experience? The experience takes place from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
What time should I arrive? Each event has a unique schedule, so we recommend checking your event guide for arrival recommendations. We suggest arriving on time to enjoy everything the festival has to offer. Parking and registration lines can be busy, so arriving early can help make your experience smoother.
What time are the lanterns launched? Launch times vary by venue. Please consult your event guide for the exact schedule. Generally, launches begin at sunset and continue for 1 to 2 hours so that everyone has the opportunity to release their lantern.
Will food and drinks be available for purchase on-site? Yes, there will be food and drinks available for purchase at the venue.
Is there parking? There is an adjacent parking lot at the São Paulo Botanical Garden. However, due to high traffic on weekends, we recommend using rideshare apps or public transportation.
Will there be additional sessions? Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that there will be additional dates. Please check the experience page for up-to-date information on availability, as those are the confirmed dates and times.
Is there a dress code? There is no dress code for Water Lantern Festival events, but attendees usually wear comfortable, cool clothing for hot days, as well as sunscreen and a hat.
Are the lanterns collected after the event? Absolutely. Our dedicated team collects every lantern once the event has concluded to ensure nothing is left behind. We are committed to protecting the environment. Learn more on our Environmental Commitment page.
Can I bring my own lantern? To ensure safety and environmental responsibility, outside lanterns are not permitted. Only our specially designed lanterns (U.S. Patent No. 10,711,959 B2) may be used. They are made to float safely and be easily retrieved. Additional lanterns can be purchased on-site.
Can I bring my own food or snacks? Yes! You can bring your own food and drinks. Please note that all events are alcohol-free. Occasionally, some venues do not allow outside food or drinks, so we recommend reading your event guide for any exceptions. We will also have a variety of food stalls on-site with delicious options.

Where can I get tickets?

Can I buy tickets at the door? A box office will be available during the experience, but there is a risk that tickets may be sold out before the event. We recommend buying tickets in advance to secure your visit.
Can I transfer my tickets to another person? Ticket transfers are not permitted.
Do I need to print my ticket? You can find your ticket in the "Tickets" section of the Fever app (you can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play). Please remember to log in with the same login method used to make the purchase. You will also find your QR code in the purchase confirmation email.
I can't find my ticket. What should I do? You can view your ticket in the Fever app, within the Tickets section. If you don't have the app installed, you can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play. Remember to log in using the same account that you used when buying the tickets. If you still cannot find your ticket, please contact us.
Can I change the date of my ticket? Are refunds allowed? This experience allows date changes up to 2 hours before the event. If you wish to make a change, contact us and include the ticket identifier associated with your purchase. You can also check if this option is available by viewing your ticket in the "Tickets" section of the Fever app; if enabled, a "Change date and/or time" button will appear. Follow the steps indicated in the link to change the date and/or time of the ticket. Refunds are not permitted under any circumstances. For more information, you can consult our T&Cs.
Can I make a group reservation? Yes, to make large group reservations, please send an email to groups@feverup.com indicating the date of attendance and the size of the group.

Do I need to arrive at the start of my scheduled session? The event starts at 3:00 PM, and we recommend arriving on time to enjoy the full experience.

Is the venue accessible? The event takes place in the green areas of the São Paulo Botanical Garden. Therefore, moving through some areas may be complex for wheelchairs or strollers.
What items are prohibited at the experience? Can I smoke or vape? For everyone's safety, entry is not allowed with:

  • Glass containers
  • Drones or laser pointers
  • Vaping devices or cigarettes (complying with the regulations of the São Paulo Botanical Garden)
Do you offer tickets for caregivers? We do not have specific tickets for caregivers.
Is the experience accessible for people with visual or hearing disabilities? The São Paulo Botanical Garden is considered partially accessible, as not all the terrain has tactile paving. For people with hearing disabilities, accessibility is moderate and depends mainly on visual signage.
Are there chairs available? Can I be seated during the experience/exhibition? Chairs will not be available, but you are free to bring your own chair to enjoy the experience.
Will there be bathrooms available? Yes, we have bathrooms available for the experience.
Will there be a lost and found area? If you lose an item during your experience, please ask the staff on-site. If you need further help after the event, please contact us.
Is there a cloakroom/coat check? No, we do not have a cloakroom service.
Is there an age requirement? The experience is suitable for the whole family.
